Our charter school application window for the 2026–2027 school year is now open.

AASD charter schools are free, public schools that offer unique and innovative learning opportunities, including environmental education, online learning, project-based programs, engineering, manufacturing, fine arts, bilingual education, and Montessori options.

AASD offers a wide variety of unique academic programs, supports, and extracurricular activities in locations across Appleton at our 15 different charter schools, ensuring students have access to the tools they need to thrive and be successful. 

In the AASD, charter school acceptance is determined via a lottery application held every December through February. Because our application uses a lottery process, there’s no need to hurry—take the time to explore all of our schools and find the best fit for your student.
